Our guest-of-honour, Mrs Lim Hwee Hua, Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport and MP for Aljunied GRC together with our special guest, Mr Lee Suan Hiang, CEO of National Arts Council, graced the official opening ceremony at Hougang Central Hub
The Art Wall
More than 500 drawings, paintings and prints from local artists of different backgrounds were showcased. Live demonstrations of more than 20 art works were created by about 30 artists right in front of the visitors.
Central Pitch
About 25 diverse performances from music, vocal, dance, band to street acts were presented
Graffiti Xpression
Creation of 4.2 x 2.1m graffiti and visitors watched the techniques and medium used during the demonstration
Italian Street Painting (Singapore Style)
Creation of street painting by artists and visitors try their hands-on expressing themselves through paint medium
Art Market
More than 1,000 pieces of various forms of handmade art and crafts were showcased in a casual art bazaar setting. Creators and artists were creating their pieces on the spot.
Hands-on-Art
3 free-of-charge hands-on spots given the visitors the opportunity to explore with 3 art mediums. More than 20 of art workshops were available for the interested visitors to learn on the spot.
City Tour at Clarke Quay
Singapore Art Street 2008 @ Clarke Quay was held 14 & 15 June 2008 at Clarke Quay Central Square, bring the arts made in Singapore to visitors from all over the world
